Director Kirsi Sillanpää (RN, MNSC, eMBA, mentor) has a clinical background in intensive and emergency nursing.

She has worked for several years in many kinds of directorship roles for example as a nursing manager, nursing director, head nurse, personnel director in Helsinki University Hospital and also in the private sector, where she was responsible for personnel development and personnel leadership as well as on-call duties. Her main interests are leadership, mentoring, changes in social and health care, the ability of staff to participate and develop at work throughout their career, and ethical issues.

Now she is working in Finland’s largest social and health trade union, Tehy as a director of Public Affairs.

Her key work is concerned with the supervision of professional and financial interests, and the improvement of the position of educated care personnel in the labour market.

She has developed Tehy’s Leadership school and mentoring system for nursing managers.

She is ENDA´s vicepresident and The President of the EPSU Standing Committee for Health and Social Services.
